Filming Preparation No.1

We did a preparation on testing our camera shots of how the clips we are going to film will appear to look like.

We decided to film the beginning wide shot scene of Ackash doing daily business on Dylan's computer. From experimenting the lighting atmosphere of the room, we decided to film the beginning scene with the lights off.

The reason is to give the opening an unwelcoming feeling from this long take, as this is where our main actor (Dylan) will later see a strange video.

This is another example of our test shots, where we want to film the baby doll while Dylan continues to watch the mysterious video.

This shot was to foreshadow the protagonist's death, as this baby doll makes a second appearance to the found fottage video. Furthermore, it was also to give a sinnister appearance, as the doll appears to be watching the protagonist or the viewer.

This idea however was not included to our final product, as we believed that it only gives a vague link to the protagonist's death.

Filming Preparation No.2

For the knife scene in preparation to film the object outside, we use red watercolour paint and small ammounts of water to give the silver knife a bloody appearace, thus decorating it to demonstrate that a murder has taken place in the isolated forest at Lee Valley.

After painting the knife, we then slid it on the soil, to present the scene of what the unknown camera man has tripped himself with, but also to give the audience a sense of fear of what is about to happen to the unknown character.
